Six weeks after having left pinkie surgery, Atlanta Hawks star guard Trae Young was cleared to return to practice, the team announced Monday.

Young tore a ligament in the finger on Feb. 23 during a game against the Toronto Raptors and underwent surgery four days later.

The Hawks have gone 12-10 since his injury entering Tuesday’s home game against the Miami Heat. Atlanta (36-42) currently holds the final play-in spot in the Eastern Conference and will play the Chicago Bulls in the play-in tournament.

Young, 25, averages a team-best 26.4 points and a career-high 10.8 assists in 51 games (all starts) this season.

Overall, Young has contributed 25.6 points and 9.5 assists in 404 career games (all starts) since being selected with the fifth overall pick of the 2018 NBA draft.
