Dubois confidence ‘flying’ ahead Parker title fight

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia — Daniel Dubois said his confidence is “flying” ahead of his IBF heavyweight title clash with Joseph Parker on Saturday.

Parker bounced on stage at Tuesday’s grand arrivals in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, looking a picture of relaxation ahead of his tilt to become a two-time heavyweight champion.

Asked about his own confidence levels, Dubois said: “I’m flying, I feel really confident. The talking’s done, let’s go to work.”

Dubois has reason to be confident. His knockout win over Anthony Joshua in September put the heavyweight division on notice.

Asked what has contributed to the turn around in form which has seen him rise to IBF champion, Dubois said: “Just the support behind me, my team, my dad, Frank Warren.

“[Them] just supporting me and having an ambition and goals. We haven’t stopped, we haven’t given up and we’re here now.”

While he has been vocal about wanting a rematch with Oleksandr Usyk in a potential undisputed heavyweight fight, Dubois said he is ready for “war” against Parker this week.

“Just war. I’m ready to fight. Whatever happens i’m ready to go through him. I’ll pit him to sleep and i’ll go for the next one. I’m hungry.” — Dubois said
