Coyotes, McBain agree to deal, avoid arbitration

Arizona Coyotes forward Jack McBain avoided arbitration by signing a two-year contract on Sunday.

Financial terms were not disclosed by the team, however Sportsnet reported the deal is worth nearly $3.2 million. McBain was scheduled to have an arbitration hearing later in the day.

Listed at 6-foot-3 and 201 pounds, McBain recorded 26 points (12 goals, 14 assists) and a team-record 304 hits in 82 games last season.

“We are very pleased to sign Jack to a new contract,” Coyotes general manager Bill Armstrong said. “He is a big, strong, physical center who led our team in hits last season and contributed offensively. We look forward to having him back on our roster this season.”

McBain, 23, has totaled 29 points (14 goals, 15 assists) in 92 career games with the Coyotes.
