Nuggets extend halftime lead through long Murray buzzer-beater

The Denver Nuggets jumped out to a 64-49 halftime lead over the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 4 of the Western Conference semifinals.

For just over a 12-minute stretch bridging the first and second quarter, the Nuggets went on a 31-10 run, that included nine consecutive made shots.

The first half ended on a high note for Denver with Jamal Murray‘s 55-foot buzzer beater.

It was the longest made shot of Murray’s career and the the longest made shot by any player in the playoffs since New Orleans Pelicans‘ Darius Miller‘s 72-foot heave in 2018. Murray also finished the half with six assists, two rebounds and a steal.

Led by Aaron Gordon‘s 14 points (6-for-6), the Nuggets shot 64.3% as a team in the first half, their best field goal percentage in a half this playoffs.

Anthony Edwards leads all scorers with 23 points.

With a win, Denver would even the series at two games each.
